In 2017, after spending several years in Iraq serving refugees that fled ISIS, Timothy moved back to Australia and founded You Belong, in response to the many struggles refugees were having integrating into society. In the city of Toowoomba alone, more than 2,000 refugees from Iraq and Syria were settled in the space of a few short years. On Human Rights Day (Dec 10, 2021) Timothy launched You Belong internationally, with a vision expand their efforts and partnerships beyond Australia and to the frontlines of displacement around the world.

In my role, I was responsible for the creation, administration, and success of World Challenge's community development work in the Middle East and North Africa. I identified, developed, managed, and empowered team members and indigenous leaders through strategic, long-term planning and implementation of holistic programs resulting in integrated and sustainable impact. I was additionally involved in the execution of internal administrative, financial, media, and communication plans. In my role, I facilitated training seminars in the USA, Kyrgyzstan, Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Iraq, Belgium, and Australia.

In 2014, The Refuge Initiative was launched in response to the humanitarian crisis stemming from ISIS advances in Northern Iraq and Syria. As Co-founder of The Refuge Initiative, a division of World Orphans, I served as Iraq Country Director, with a mission to build communities of hope that not only provide homes for refugees, but also offer holistic care and empowerment during displacement.
