I was brought on at Sterling Commerce to resolve issues with the backup environments. • Multiple environments with success rates around 75% brought to a consistent 99%• Upgraded 6.5.6 Netbackup environment to 7.5.0.5• Encryption was required but not implemented in the environment installed and configured Media server Encryption option 6.1.7 • Installed and configured reporting of the backups using Netbackup OPScenter.• Migrated netbackup environments to new hardware and imported old images that were not encrypted with encryption.• Introduced data deduplication to the backups reducing I/O and disk consumtion. While improving restore times and dependability.

• Work directly with the Pre Sales team to design and implement storage architect solutions for multiple industry leading companies. • Implemented a Netbackup 7.1.0.3 using Data Domain DD890 storage solution for a 2 Billion dollar company. The project includes a vlan configuration and routing the replication across separate SRDF. • Configured replacement Avamar 6.1 grids for a large retailer business. Then preformed the root to root and cut over from the old grids.

I worked on the with the Website committee to build and update the Church website. This was a volunteer position.

IStorage Production Support EngineerI worked in one of the most challenging, fast paced business environments in the world. Our Team manages over 30 Netbackup masters and hundreds of media servers ranging from version 7.0.1 down to 3.4 with a vast variety of tape and disk. This environment backs up over 16,000 clients of various operating systems and petabytes of data. We also face major challenges of managing legacy environments that are not standard to our other environments.• I work with a large customer base on a daily basis many of which request my assistance over that of other level 3 engineers.• Mange on a regular basis severity 1 outages in which escalation to multiple vendors need to be brought together to get to the root of the problem. In these escalations I have managed the outages to completion and to the satisfaction of upper management as well as our customers.• Oversee and troubleshoot Storage Lifecycle Policies to move copies of images to offsite storage for disaster recovery purposes. • Involved in installation and validation of 7.0.1 of multiple Netbackup environments• Facilitate upgrades, installations and patching on a production environment on a daily basis while staying within the change management process.• Offer to customers options to improve their backup and recovery environment and manage the solution through to implementation. • Was hired in at Chase through a contracting firm Modis Inc. as a deployment Engineer. I was offered a position as a Chase employee 4 months into my 6 month project.

• Support Enterprise Backup environments on Multiple International Accounts. • Create Daily customer reports with backup status, follow up on any failures and see them through to resolution. Report back to customer with ongoing status during outage.• Directed major outages of the backup environment Collaborated with various teams and third party support representatives. Reporting status to Directors and VP’s keeping them appraised of our current situations and risk level to the business. • Perform data restores including a Business Critical recovery of a Lotus Notes Domino Server.• Administered from start to finish Upgrade of Netbackup Enterprise environment to 6.5.2 the scope was 2 Unix Master servers 2 Unix Media Servers 8 Windows Media Servers a Cluster and all associated tape drives. The environment was spread across multiple states and countries. • Was given assignment to take over the Blockbuster Environment the person who had supported it for 5 years was leaving very short notice. Little documentation existed on the account. The transition was seamless. • Constructed new backup clients or even environments building schedules and retentions .• Worked with NDMP datamovers, Sun STK storage SSO and ACSLS software, SAN storage .• Collaborated with the build of a Bladestore Disk environment using TSM to backup clients to Virtual disk on the bladestore to later be backed up to physical tape. This increased the backup speed while reducing impact to the clients. It also improved speed and reliability of restores.• Administered a Veritas netbackup disk farm environment.• While still on the Qwest account worked on the transition from Netbackup to TSM.• Supported TSM backup environment for close to 3 years.

• Administered Legato Networker Backup environment.• Handled a Business critical restore of a large Oracle Database. In collaboration between the backup team and the DBA’s we did a very tedious file by file restore of a 2TB database. Legato support had told us we had no way to restore the data but we were able to get the whole database back and operational.• Collaborated on the Transition of the Legato Networker environment to Veritas Netbackup.• Worked with and trouble shot home grown scripts including BCV backups.• I started at Qwest as a Computer Operator. I was appointed to shift supervisor with in the first year in operations. I managed the work schedules and merit raises for a team of 6 operators. I promoted out to the Software support team shortly after my second year at Qwest.
