Transmission Support Engineer • Consistent optics and microwave network surveillance for alarm detection during working hours. • Analyse faults and provide sufficient intelligent information on fault incidents to FM (Field Maintenance) team for quicker recovery of lost sites and/or traffic.• Configure or de-configure services on the NMS (Network Management System) within the provisioning KPI as per circuit provision/cessation authority from NAD (Network Architecture and Design).• Implement change requests that involve software changes and strictly follow approved procedure to safeguard traffic failure outside the maintenance window.• Perform new feature testing and implementation of all Configuration Changes.• Work with other operation areas e.g. Front office, Field Maintenance including vendor operational teams as the need may arise.• Provide adequate information through reports to enable appropriate service and / or network resource improvements. • Monitoring network resource utilization and highlight areas in need for hardware and/or software upgrades.• Follow up on faults escalated to vendor until closure of the case.• Prepare and submit daily fault reports to management. • Maintain availability of a sound network management systems on 24/7 hrs basis.• Maintaining highest service quality level and ensuring service availability within the entire Optics/Microwave network.• Maintain all NMS updated back up files for future emergency recovery. • Maintain accurate records for all customer links configurations on the NMS. • Maintain clean healthy NMS environment • Maintain high level software security checks and ensure no un-authorized persons log onto the system.• Optimize the resource of the Transmission Optics and Microwave Network.• Save on power by switching off duplicated links.
