The business sustained a direct hit from the Hurricane, which caused $1M in damages and impaired our production capability for 10-weeks.• Successfully negotiated a $18.2M loss recovery, which exceeded the expected outcome by 20%. Over a 12-months period, effectively educated the insurance carrier as to the Caterpillar North American Excavators business loss.

Hand-selected by the Commercial Manager of North America’s worldwide commercial mining business to create one new cost center for the worldwide commercial mining business (400+ person organization). Devised a cost center/department within the worldwide commercial mining business that would track and report the expenses of operating the worldwide commercial mining business. Select Achievements:• Subsequent to Caterpillar Inc. acquiring Bucyrus—a leading global manufacturer of a complete line of mining equipment —owned and championed the transition and integration of Bucyrus ($9B acquisition) into Caterpillar.• Determined and eliminated $90M in waste in just 6-months by reviewing all spend and labor costs for North America’s worldwide commercial mining business; worked closely with the regional commercial managers to identify areas of waste. • Strategically controlled total costs and allocation of resources on a product (20 products lines) or department basis. Received the Regional Recognition Award in 2013 for success of implementing a new cost center.

Relocated to Toronto Canada as the Associate Director of Finance Caterpillar Tunneling Canada Corp. Planned, implemented and managed all the finance, accounting, and compliance functions of the Caterpillar Tunneling Canada Corp.
