Supervise vehicle safety and compliance (both regulatory and preventative maintenance) as well as support multiple locations with maintenance best practices and successful negotiation with fleet maintenance contracts. Support the fleet on a regional basis, at 43 locations across 11 states.Responsibilities include supporting location management and the fleet team with the maintenance program; identifying local fleet maintenance service providers and assessing quality of work; standardizing maintenance procedures; reviewing and approving major fleet repairs; evaluating current and long term fleet needs for the locations; completing fleet inspections; managing and auditing location documentation to ensure compliance; training partners at locations; adhering to federal and state transportation requirements; and monitoring any violations and developing action plans to mitigate risk.

Manage the operations and personnel for approximately 1200+ equivalent truck units comprised of 2 locations. Manage Service Managers, Shift Supervisors, Technicians-In-Charge, Customer Service Coordinators, Parts Responsible Persons, and Administrative Assistants to support the needs of assigned locations. Accomplish results through the effective delegation of work and responsibilities and effective management of the team, thus ensuring business objectives and labor requirements are met. Responsible for ensuring that the needs of the customers are being met while balancing the financial targets against the requirements of the business. Responsible for the management of location's performance against comprehensive metrics to meet and/or exceed assigned objectives. Responsible for ensuring that the location is in compliance with and properly executing all key company processes, Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Repair Practices.

• Facilitate the maintenance of company vehicles and ground support equipment (GSE) by providing oversight of FedEx technicians and commercial garages. Manage a multi-million dollar operating budget, ensuring that fleet requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner, and reflect the corporate standards. • Supervise a staff at 20 Global Vehicle Maintenance Locations and 7 commercial garages in 4 states. Review training requirements and related programs, drive performance management, and enhance the team’s performance through goal setting, coaching, motivational encouragement and progressive disciplinary actions. • Coordinate vendor relations in order to support the needs of fleet operations. Plan schedules and work assignments, as well as implement performance standards for technicians and vendors. Provide vendors and technicians with work instructions of necessary repairs, ensuring that repairs are completed in time.• Evaluate the effectiveness of commercial garage services, implementing process improvements and changes as required. Comply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and audit the work performed on vehicles and GSE equipment. • Perform tests on vehicles and GSE equipment, and act as a liaison between vendors, field and hub management, and vehicle administration on all paperwork related to vehicle maintenance. Inspect and accept new vehicles/equipment, and arrange for the disposition of vehicles as applicable. • Review and approve invoices for maintenance services and supplies, and analyze trends and costs, recommending necessary charges. Manage all management information systems data, monitoring warranty stipulations and maintaining accurate records in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.

• Managed a staff at 17 Global Vehicle Maintenance locations and 5 commercial garages in 3 states with a multi-million dollar annual budget. Promoted a positive atmosphere and ensured that maintenance was performed effectively, safely and improving overall performance.• Combined strong automotive repair knowledge with exceptional customer relationship management skills to act as a liaison between technicians and internal / external customers in support of goals for service excellence. • Maintained parts inventory for vehicles and equipment. • Provided timely and quality maintenance for a FedEx vehicle fleet that consisted of 52 assets requiring preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, minor and major repairs, modifications and documentation. The assigned location was consistently ranked as a top performing location in the district.• Dispatched work orders to vehicle technicians and performed road calls in order to repair vehicles in response to request for assistance in the event of vehicle breakdowns. Recorded serial numbers and retrieved warranty cards that needed to be completed as work was performed.• Worked with welding equipment and utilized an in-depth knowledge of repair manuals, electrical wiring, and schematics necessary for troubleshooting while performing repairs and maintenance on gas powered light duty vehicles, diesel powered light & heavy duty vehicles, hydraulics, equipment and related components.
