Bouwinvest is a Dutch Institutional Real Estate Investor; I originally joined because I believe that if we want to solve the climate crises and realize a just carbon transition we should find a way to have capital markets support that transition. Real Estate, of course, contributes to carbon emissions in substantial ways, and the long investment horizon gives space to make impact that matters. Originally I joined to organize and lead the organization-wide transition to a data driven way of working with a special focus on enabling a fact-based carbon transition of our $15B+ Real Estate portfolio. In November 2023 I was promoted to lead our ESG department. I took that job to see if we can find a way to align ESG with the financial interests of our clients and thus proving (thru data and persuasion) that we cán better align capital flows with the holistic interests of humanity.

UMC Utrecht is a top-ranked academic medical center; I joined to see if I could improve patient outcomes by building and leading a central Digital Health (datascience and ehealth) department from scratch in a large, political organization. Coincidentally, I joined just before the pandemic hit (Europe). Part of the management consulting business unit; I joined to see if I could start and lead a data science department from scratch (after working with large and advanced datascience teams in the US). Built a team of 20+ data scientists whom work in integrated teams with the consultants and technologists to solve clients' toughest challenges. My team delivered successfully datascience solutions that made substantial impact to clients across Retail, Health Care, and Banking and was recognized by key clients as such.

Part of the data science and product startup founded by key members of the Obama analytics team, funded by Google’s Eric Schmidt. I joined to take advantage of the unique opportunity to be in a start-up from day 1 that was about applying datascience to advance social causes. Worked with c-suite executives of large organizations across sectors, for example working on climate-action outreach and increasing student graduation rates. Moved to Chicago, Illinois to (re)-join the Obama for America. I joined given the President's excellent first term record and was part of the Analytics team. I Worked primarily on fundraising analytics to increase and predict fundraising cash flows (key to finance your GOTV efforts). I joined because I wanted to quickly build a broad set of work experiences (during my internship I noted I learned a lot from people who had a consulting background). My start coincided with the Financial Crisis and as such my work was primarily focused on urgent and substantial cost reduction initiatives for large corporates across sectors in various European countries.

Moved to Des Moines, Iowa to join the Obama for America campaign in the first state to hold the Democratic primary for a 3-month internship. I did so over the Senator's position on Climate Change and the Iraq war and the example his leadership would bring globally. I was part of the data team and was asked to stay longer to apply data analyses developed in Iowa across states for Super Tuesday from campaign headquarters in Chicago, IL.
