About Timothy Pylate

I have more than 20 years of experience in the international non-profit sector with more than 17 years of senior management experience--much of that in some of the world’s most complex contexts. I have managed multiple programs funded by major governmental and private donors and led strategic level decision-making. I have a solid background in organizational development and am deft at assessing the capacities of an organization and collaboratively developing strategies to make it stronger. While managing programs and organizations, I have built lasting and fruitful relationships with my boards of directors, colleagues, donors, and community stakeholders. I have been responsible for developing and managing multi-million dollar budgets across several countries. I have a proven track record as a frugal steward of program funding, as well as a shrewd analyst of past spending and future projections. I am familiar with standard accounting principles and with the financial and reporting requirements of major donors. Throughout my international experience, I have also successfully raised public and private funds leading to the expansion and sustainability of programming. I am quite at ease with public speaking and making presentations for donors, as well as writing proposals for funding.I am a strategic thinker and a results-oriented manager with high expectations of my colleagues. I believe in balancing a participatory management approach with timely decision making and implementation. I highly value systems that ensure quality and efficiency and believe that a strong, motivated team is the key to the success of any organization.
