Subject matter expert in the program areas of Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA), Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA), and Unemployment Insurance (UI) in the state of New Jersey. Routinely conduct agency hearings, adjudicate benefit claims, investigate benefit history, create form templates, represent the agency in appeal hearings, and interpret complex legislative code. As the agency’s leading authority on TAA administration, responsible for monitoring day to day claims operations on a team of four workers, training new workers, and imparting program knowledge on executive leaders. Familiar with federal information resources such as the Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Register, Government Printing Office, Congress.gov, and the United States Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration website.Serve a dual role of business analyst and subject matter expert on the ongoing NY/NJ UI Modernization Consortium. Responsible for documenting system requirements, writing business rules, and creating use cases related to Trade Readjustment Allowances.Other areas of knowledge include:Trade Adjustment Assistance Reform Act of 2002, Trade and Globalization Adjustment Assistance Act of 2009 (TGAAA), Trade Adjustment Assistance Extension Act of 2011 (TAAEA), Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA), and the Social Security Act.
