Develop and implement new materials and suppliers to deliver better cost performance from USO's photovoltaic modules.

This position is a multidisciplinary process engineering and product development role, which entails continuous improvement of coating and converting processes in addition to technical ownership of paper backings and coating formulations. Responsibilities also include establishment of long-term procurement and manufacturing strategy for specialty paper backings, barrier coatings, and other paper chemicals. Position has two direct reports.

Manage multiple new product development and process improvement projects both individually and in teams from inception to customer approval. Create and implement new release technologies for new and existing masking tape products. Position manages one Technician.

Manage multiple cost reduction and process improvement projects while developing new paper tape backings for product development group. Troubleshoot processes for production trials at facilities both inside and outside IPG. Serve as primary technical contact for IPG’s paper, polymer, and release vendors. Manage one part-time co-op student.

I worked as a laboratory technician doing paper testing. This position was a part-time co-op position that I held as a college student.
