Tim Howell is a member of the Nauset Flotilla and Vice Division Commander of Cape Cod and the Islands for the US Coast Guard Auxiliary on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He is also a Flotilla Staff Officer, Boat Crew Coxswain, Instructor and Vessel Examiner.Mr. Howell retired from GE after a 35 year energy career. Prior to his retirement, he led the Power and Development team at GE Energy Financial Services. In this role, he oversaw the firm's origination of equity investments in thermal power generation projects and its co-development efforts for both thermal and renewable power projects in the U.S. and Canada. He held this role from 2015 to 2018.Prior to this assignment, Mr. Howell led origination for GE Energy Financial Services' Power and Renewable Energy, where his team originated investments in projects generating power from wind, sun and other renewable energy sources, as well as gas-fired power projects. He held this role from 2006 to 2015.Previously, Mr. Howell was responsible for several start-up growth initiatives at GE Energy Financial Services, including renewable energy and clean tech equity.Mr. Howell joined GE Capital in 1994, and held both US and globally focused assignments. In 2000, he became a Managing Director. Before joining GE Capital, Mr. Howell spent ten years at GE Power. Mr. Howell holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Industrial Economics and Mechanical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and he received an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. He is a graduate of GE's Technical Marketing Program.
