Mentoring design professionals. Managing a team of integrated disciplines. Partnering with clients to develop the theme and vision for sites ranging from neighborhood and regional parks, commercial and mixed use sites, and large master planned communities. Facilitating this vision through planning, final design, and construction.

Served as a faculty associate teaching design drawing and presentation graphics studios. Media ranged from hardline and freehand sketching to digital rendering utilizing Adobe systems. Also co-facilitated evening and weekend workshops geared towards the design professional.

Served as project manager on various master planned communities at this design focused landscape architecture studio, specializing in neo-traditional neighborhood design and pedestrian oriented communities.

Facilitated the 'client experience', including marketing, contract negotiation, and project development, while leading multi-discipline teams at this national design firm. Project types included educational (high school campuses, LEED certified project at NAU), transit and multi-modal (rest areas and port of entry, trailheads, regional trails).

UMDC studies the factors associated with successful urban and farmers markets in metropolitan areas, and utilizes this knowledge to consult on urban market renewal projects. As an intern, Mr. Starkey assisted in research and the preparation of project proposals.

Got my feet wet on everything from small commercial projects, to regional wetland rehabilitation, to large international planned communities. My career launch point. (Thanks, to my first mentor, "Uncle" Don, for getting me there.)
