Project management and new product design for the Low Voltage Switchgear Assemblies line.

Led the development of high-performance, portable lighting tools for an original equipment manufacturer. Individually responsible for the following:• Designed hazardous location flashlights, chargers, and accessory mounts consisting of injection molded, machined, and sheet metal components, stampings, springs, screws, parabolic reflectors, and aluminum extrusions.• Conducted tolerance analysis, and created drawings and mechanical documentation.• Directed, coordinated, and participated in the building and testing of prototypes.• Performed first piece inspections and worked with vendors to solve engineering challenges.• Assisted production in the development of efficient manufacturing procedures.

Collaborated within a contract engineering team to design, develop, test, and validate medical devices.Designed static and dynamic assemblies consisting of injection molded, machined, sheet metal, cast, and off-the-shelf components, working closely with customers. Built prototypes and performed testing and validation. Developed manufacturing processes, fixtures, supporting documentation, and training material for the transfer to manufacturing of completed prototypes.• Led the development of a diagnostic tool to inspect flow through a silastic cerebrospinal fluid shunt in patients suffering from Hydrocephalus. Created design history files to support 510K submission and approval.• Designed and built a product-validating device to cycle and test placement of temperature sensors that utilized DAQ software, a PID controller, and heating and cooling elements.• Created a concept prototype for a disposable delivery system for an epoxy-based, spinal-fusing system.• Worked with a team to develop an accelerated PCR compound detection system.• Assisted in developing a non-contact fluid measurement system and corresponding disposable for the monitoring of fluid output from a Foley catheter.

• Developed HPLC methods to test for elemental sulfur, sulfate, acetate, thiosulfate, and sulfide concentration in Chlorobium Tepidum growth studies.• Attained time points for growth studies and tested samples for various sulfur compounds.• Prepared stock solution and growth media, and repaired broken biotechnology equipment.• Publication: L.-K, Chan, T.
