Dr. Timo Wandhöfer works as Group CISO at Klöckner & Co and is responsible for the group-wide information security. The wealth of experience as CISO goes back 8 years. During this time, he has gained extensive insight into the sectors of the public sector, the state, banking, and industry. In this process, different framework conditions have emerged as drivers for information security. Even if the goal of protection targets for confidentiality, integrity and availability are overriding, the structure is often also very stringent based on regulation or IT driven. The greatest insight of the time as CISO is the holistic view from business, requirements, and tool support for a lean and goal-oriented governance. Before Timo worked for Klöckner & Co, the Xella Group, the Deutsche WertpapierService Bank AG and the Ministry for the Interior of NRW, he worked for 10 years in a non-university research institution (GESIS) in the area of machine learning and use of automatic data aggregation for political decision making processes. These activities, as well as the doctoral thesis, were carried out within the EU's Seventh Research Program included publications in peer-reviewed articles as well as international technical presentations. The course of study was in computer visualistics with a degree in computer science.
