Senior member of staff in an organisation with more than 192,000 members, campaigning to promote the consumption of real ale, cider and perry, and to preserve pubs as cornerstones of communities across the UK. Catalyst for a root and branch strategic review of CAMRA's positioning and purpose, which resulted in fundamental changes to the organisation's Articles of Association being decided by members at the 2018 AGM.

EAAA provides helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) across East Anglia, giving the NHS an enhanced care capability delivered day and night by airborne specialist medical teams. With more than 85 directly-employed and seconded members of staff and over 400 volunteers EAAA’s annual income, raised entirely from voluntary contributions, grew from £4.1m to £7.1m during my tenure as CEO. Missions conducted annually increased from 1011 (2011) to 1670 (2013) and more lives were saved due to developments in the clinical service. EAAA became the first UK air ambulance to acquire a full day/night HEMS capability in May 2013. Main achievements• Energetic and visionary leadership. The recruitment of leading Trauma experts to head EAAA’s clinical team. Enlisting a wide range of well-positioned high-profile advocates and ‘champions’.• Extending the scope of the Charity’s ambition so that EAAA’s assets could be used to full effect. Leading and delivering EAAA’s vision: setting the strategic direction. Reorganising both the governance and staff structures. Establishing Board committees and County committees. Recruiting more than 60 well-connected high-achievers as members.• Ensuring the financial stability through fundraising and by prudent resource management. Growing EAAA’s income from £4.1m (Jul 11) to just over £7.1m (Jan 14).• Building and maintaining links with stakeholders including volunteers, partners and Health Service professionals. Forming associations with other emergency services to create more closely integrated and effective response capabilities.• Undertaking complex negotiations with various NHS bodies, other charities and commercial partners and suppliers. Active involvement in the national representative body.• Increasing the visibility and support for the Charity through marketing, publicity and PR activity directed at a range of specific audiences, using the entire spectrum of new and traditional media.

Feasibility study into coordinating the educational support available to the children of those members of the Armed Forces killed or seriously injured whilst serving on operations.

Supporting the start-up of a charity to help those leaving the Armed Forces to set up and run their own businesses
