The National Space IndustryHub offers a physical space, resources, mentoring, and connections for emerging space ventures and researchers in Australia within the larger Cicada Innovations complex. My role has been to coach individual entrepreneurs, product developers and researchers. The hub also offers commercialisation training programs nationally to share essential knowledge for anyone on the path of creating a space tech venture. What an intense time this last period of Pollenizer was, crossing over my time as a contractor at iFlix. Having been in-and-out of the Guild for ages, i finally took the plunge and joined the mothership, immediately diving into setting up Health-X, Energy-X with Horizon Power, Free Money with Pepper, 2-day workshops, running the famous Pollenizer accelerator program, working with dozens of founders and national brands. An incredible, deep learning experience. A place of high integrity, the firm ultimately decided it had not hit proof-of-scale, and so following its own tough-love advice (the thing it was famous for), we wrapped up. Am amazing time.

When I joined in 2009, QFX had about 25K customers. I also worked evangelising Quickflix technology and innovation - and led efforts to define and nurture a Quickflix culture of trust, respect and leadership.

My second dot-com era role, where I led the delivery of interactive web projects for the global marketing teams of Honda, Mazda, Nikon, Sony and Toyota, as well as the ARCUS Artist-in-Residence - IBARAKI project with Wacoal Spiral Aoyama Gallery. So much fun working out of their super-trendy Harajuku offices.

My first dot-com era role - a true garage startup experience - architecting and building web sites and applications for clients such as Art Gallery of NSW, Honda Australia, MCA Chicago, MCA San Diego, MCA Sydney, Southcorp Wines (Lindemans, Penfolds, Seppelts, Seaview, Wynns), Sun Microsystems, and Toyota Australia. The unique thing about Spike in 1996 was how they were born of a magazine design business, and unlike peers began their work with a creative visual concept, art direction and copywriting - sensitive to the leading digital media of the time, desktop websites. My job was to execute pixel-perfect versions of these concepts in code, and my job was to push the tools and technology of the day to nail a pixel-perfect creative execution of the vision, and not allow it to dilute the visual and experiential work of our creative team. Had a blast, and also a bona-fide dot-com burnout 😎

Under UK Ministry-of-Defence contract, I joined Imperial College's Hypersonics research team under Professor John Harvey, with the goal to apply contemporary software engineering methodologies - object orientation, abstraction, test-base development, visualisation - to develop a new system for the computational aerothermodynamics simulation of ultra-high altitude rarefied hypersonic flows. My work also explored parallelisation, the use of Voronoi diagrams to partition 2-D and 3-D spaces to support spatially smooth statistical convergence sought by the core Direct Simulation Monte-Carlo algorithm underpinning rarefied gas and plasma flow simulations, used where non-equilibrium conditions make traditional fluid dynamics methods - Euler and Navier Stokes' equations - break down.

Wrote, presented and co-produced this BBC 2 Horizon Films' documentary "Cyberpunks and Technophobes", exploring why despite exciting technological imagery and scientific ideas in films and television programmes, UK teenagers were becoming technophobes, switching off from science and technology.
