Joining the Checkout/Order Success team, I help lead a team of engineers overseeing a wide variety of our customer application and services. From our cart/checkout experience through the delivery of the groceries, we oversee a total of 27 different systems through the application and are directly responsible for billions of dollars in transactions in millions of monthly transactions flowing through these systems. Our team has direct responsibility over growth through the acquisition of new users through our checkout funnel as well as elevating GMV for the company and retention of users through quality initiatives within the product.

I ran product, design and engineering teams as well as data science/engineering and QA to see that the consumer platform, internal tools and growth tools scaled from a seed stage startup through 200k+ customers.

Joining a company of about 10 employees, the product and engineering efforts had been pretty minimal at the time and needed a lot of maturity to reach true growth. I created a unique process to the organization for the engineering team as well as for communicating user-feedback and bugs from other members of the team, grew our engineering team to 15 FTEs and refactored the entire application to support a new model in the solar power space. In addition, brought the company from 4,000 active users to over 80,000 active users, while also doubling the ARPU through new product features with up- sell opportunity and therefore bringing annual revenue over 12.5x from joining.

I joined the Contactually team almost 5 years into the company’s history. With an engineering team of 10 people and a major pipeline for new engineers needed, I spent a good bulk of time managing our $3.1M budget for new hires, equipment and cost of sale items. In addition, I led the effort to scale our internal processes for scaling a company of 40 people across various teams to a company of 100. Working with all teams and the executive team, I also led the engineering strategy and vision at the executive and board levels. In addition, I led the effort of redesigning the entire signup funnel to bring lead conversions from <1.2% to over 5.3% in a single month and continued to increase from there.

The AirBnb for boats model, met and joined the initial founding team to bring the product out to market and grow to an internationally recognized brand with thousands of books all over the world each month. This multisided marketplace involved renters, owners, captains and industry professionals in a highly sought-after, but very complex market to manage. Boatsetter offers turnkey on-water experiences with our network of licensed captains, seamless insurance coverage and accident coverage for all of our customers. We bring significant revenue to our network of marinas, captains and owners and make boating easy, accessible and affordable for anyone looking for a day out on the water.

Brought in as the first technical lead, I was solely responsible for designing and creating a product from scratch that fit an open market need. Single-handedly, I found the maternity space, designed a product, built the initial platform and then hired the team to complete the platform and application. From there, I continued to work with our client partners and the sales teams to continue refining the product and bringing it into market. Ultimately, we brought this into 5 large hospital systems for new moms to utilize pre- and post-delivery.

Architected many of the product features and the product flow for the Careverge platform that enabled consumers to access healthcare information and communicate with others through a social gaming platform. I also led the user interface efforts and the user testing focus groups to continue refining the product. Acquired by United Health (UNH).

Created patient-focused product enabling remote connection with multiple healthcare providers through a virtual portal for health and wellness services within a patient-management and communication gateway. Grew telemedicine platform to serve 3M+ active user patients, creating a powerful value proposition through convenience and effective communication methodologies.

Led all efforts with designing the system and product architecture around both new and existing products at ePals, Inc. A solution for connecting students around the world, safety and privacy as well as designing a user-friendly system for a large range of ages was a difficult task. Ultimately, the company boasted 8 million registered users before its IPO (SLN.V) in 2011.
