Having worked successfully in the UK since 1999 we decided to expand our operations internationally and where better than Australia! In 2013 Gibber began working along side Bridges to Higher Education (a consortium of 5 of the biggest Universities in Sydney) to design and deliver a widening participation project to schools across the Sydney Basin. Due to the huge success of this first project we set up our HQ in Gosford and have now worked in schools across every State and Territory of Australia.I have responsibility for the creative vision and future development of Gibber Australia, manage the company and provide oversight for the effective delivery of all of its activities. I work closely with the Artistic Director, delivery staff and partner organisations to initiate and implement Gibber’s future growth strategy and to maintain standards of excellence in all program delivery.

I am the proud co-founder and Director of Gibber Theatre Ltd, operating within the UK since 1999 and Australia since 2013. I have been responsible for the creation and delivery of effective drama based solutions within both the education and business sector as well as the strategic management and organisational development of the company. Gibber use live theatre to grab attention and stimulate minds of all ages, shapes and sizes. We connect with our audiences, building trust and delivering real change. Gibber communicate challenging, inspirational messages and concepts to a diverse demographic. Gibber works with businesses, schools and within the community delivering a range of innovative drama-based products. Gibber continually explore new ways of working and new ways to communicate, using drama and technology to empower and develop.Coming originally from a performing arts ‘acting’ background I have very much learnt (and continue to learn) my business acumen ‘on the job’ building a team around me to deliver the high quality, cost effective service that Gibber is renowned for. Working with the Artistic Director I have responsibility for the creative vision and future development of the company as well as managing the day to day activities and providing oversight for the effective delivery of all of its activities. I work closely with my business partner, delivery staff and partner organisations to initiate and implement Gibber’s future growth strategy and to maintain standards of excellence in all program delivery.

ImpAct on learning were a communications and training provider using theatrical techniques. They used drama to help education providers deliver messages, to motivate or challenge students. ImpAct used a range of powerful and emotive techniques selected to best fulfil the brief. All work was delivered live, fully interactive and topical, making its impact highly memorable and effective. Their presentations, workshops and training events were delivered by experienced professional actors and facilitators.Working as an actor/ facilitator and later as a team leader I worked on both theatre in schools and drama based business training programs: Duties included:• Writing scripts • Directing rehearsals• Running auditions• Performing in Theatre in schools performances• Devising follow-on workshops• Facilitating workshops for young people • Stage management including sound, lighting and set design and building• Keeping day to day tour records and liaising with head office

Having set my sights on a career in the West End I found myself working in schools across the UK delivering Theatre in Education and loving every minute of it. In the early days I stayed on caravan parks and dodgy B&Bs and traveled in a beat up transit that carried the worn out set and costumes. Being away from home and living and working with the same people day in day out was tough but waking up and doing something that you love every day certainly made up for it. I quickly learnt the power of theatre as a learning tool, that not all theatre in education is good and that children are the most honest audience you will ever have. If the acting, the script or the set isn't up to scratch you can guarantee they will let you know - and so they should! Theatre in Education led me into small and middle scale touring, again aimed at children. Performing in 3 or 4 different Theatre's each week was a great experience and the accommodation was certainly better but I actually missed going in and out of schools and working directly with the children. I learnt that when it comes to educational theatre or theatre for young people, lights, special effects and 'artistic integrity' aren't actually that important!

Having finished College I was in search of my first professional acting job and needed something that would provide me with an income while I was 'resting'... After 2 months learning how to deal Blackjack, Roulette and running the casino bar I realised that I enjoyed gambling and drinking too much and decided this probably wasn't it.

Some people backpack across Australia, others work at Camp America or go to India to discover themselves... I worked for a summer season as a Blue Coat at a holiday camp and my life was never the same again - what more can I say!
