I spent two and a half years helping run innovation and design initiatives for Dignity Health, the fifth largest hospital system in the United States.As a member of their Performance Excellence and Enterprise Project Management Office (affectionately and unofficially known as PEEPMO) I helped integrate human centered-design into their existing toolkit which included Lean Six Sigma and PMBOK project management. While at Dignity Health, I introduced an ILN-inspired brand of innovation and design thinking to teams across the enterprise including: operations, performance improvement, nursing, patient experience, learning & organizational development and many more. I led design sprints focused on reducing patient length of stay, boosting care-team communications, improving patient HCAHPS scores and created education workshops for Dignity Health’s Innovation Academy.
