I lead organizations devoted to improving lives and communities through learning. My goal is to help them become mission-driven, responsive to community needs, determined to fulfill aspirational visions, and financially sound. I help them embrace innovation, adjust to evidence, stop doing what doesn’t work, and measure themselves by the difference they are making. My great hope is that they become essential and beloved in the communities they serve and - where possible - impactful on a global scale.

PresidentMuseum Of Science Jan 2020 - PresentBoston, Ma, UsThe mission of the Museum of Science is to inspire a lifelong love of science in EVERYONE, and our vision is of a world where science belongs to EACH OF US, for the good of ALL OF US. We do that across three channels: in-person, online, and in schools. Our aim is to engage 100,000,000 people a year by 2030.The Museum will be 200 years old in 2030. It was created 29 years before Darwin published the Origin of Species. All that time we have been in the same business: public science learning. What could be more important in a world where it will take the creative and wise use of science and technology build a future that is sustainable and humane for everyone? The Museum attracts more visitors than any cultural attraction in New England. It is a leader among science centers worldwide, engaging actively in the Association of Science and Technology Centers, participating in global science learning efforts, distributing curricula worldwide, and reaching the world broadly online. The Museum is uniquely positioned to inspire its local community, and the world at large, to commit to evidence-based decision-making. My goal is to help it rise to its capacity to make a positive impact on a world that needs it. -
