The mission of the Museum of Science is to inspire a lifelong love of science in EVERYONE, and our vision is of a world where science belongs to EACH OF US, for the good of ALL OF US. We do that across three channels: in-person, online, and in schools. Our aim is to engage 100,000,000 people a year by 2030.The Museum will be 200 years old in 2030. It was created 29 years before Darwin published the Origin of Species. All that time we have been in the same business: public science learning. What could be more important in a world where it will take the creative and wise use of science and technology build a future that is sustainable and humane for everyone?The Museum attracts more visitors than any cultural attraction in New England. It is a leader among science centers worldwide, engaging actively in the Association of Science and Technology Centers, participating in global science learning efforts, distributing curricula worldwide, and reaching the world broadly online.The Museum is uniquely positioned to inspire its local community, and the world at large, to commit to evidence-based decision-making. My goal is to help it rise to its capacity to make a positive impact on a world that needs it.

One of the world's foremost hands-on museums for science and technology, the mission of The Tech is "to inspire the innovator in everyone." The Tech - now in its 20th year - attracts over 450,000 visitors a year, has a staff of 180, a budget of $25M/yr., and 450 active volunteers. Under my leadership, The Tech has:• Secured over $100M in charitable contributions• Received the 2015 National Medal (presented by First Lady Michelle Obama in a White House Ceremony)• Increased its endowment from $11M to $20M• Secured $10M for a new center for teacher professional development (The Bowers Center)• Increased annual total revenue from $10.3M/yr to $25M/yr. • Established $4M “rainy day” fund and $750K capital improvements fund• Trained teachers who are now impacting over 30,000 low income students daily• Renovated all but one gallery (which will be renovated and reopened in January 2020)• Established Sensory Friendly Days for visitors with disabilities• Created a regular jobs partnership program for students in the foster care system• Installed the world’s first digital IMAX for the dome• Secured the right to develop 60,000 s.f. adjacent to The Tech• Established the “Girls & Tech” program• Created the world’s most extensive bio-tinkering space• Developed a 20 year Vision focused on scaling our programs nationally and globally (2019-39)• Developed five-year Strategic Plan to establish foundation for the new vision (2019-24)

One of the nation’s leading regional science museums, during my tenure McWSC had a staff of 130 and a budget of $7M. Under my leadership, McWSC:• Grew membership by 156%• Grew attendance by 48%• Increased the endowment from $1M to $3.8M, with an additional $2M in pledges• Grew earned revenue to 75% of total revenue• Reduced operating expenses by 8.3% during the 2007-08 recession without compromising the visitor experience• Raised $11M for capital initiatives• Created a state-wide science competition (“Celebrate Science”)• Turned its café into a working exhibit space - “The Healthy Caf锕 Launched three new natural history exhibitions (Alabama Dinosaurs, Sea Monsters, NatureScope)• Laid the foundation for a new children’s museum (Itty Bitty Magic City)

This United Way organization provides employment and care opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Under my leadership, The Zoom Group:• Developed a partnership with UPS that provided jobs for over 50 adults with disabilities• Developed a partnership with the V.A. Hospital that provided jobs for over 20 adults with disabilities• Created a new state-of-the-art day program for adults with profound disabilities• Created new fundraising initiatives that generated much-needed annual revenue• Launched new arts initiatives that helped adults with disabilities contribute to the community

A foundation whose mission is to improve the lives of Birmingham residents living in poverty.During my tenure, we raised the funds necessary to purchase of an entire city block that we then developed as a site for a large community garden and a child development center.

Led The Center's efforts to develop after school and summer programs in largest public housing community in Birmingham, Alabama.

Litigated civil cases in State of Alabama and US Federal Courts, including commercial fraud, insurance defense, contract disputes, etc.

Researched case law and drafted opinions for Justice Exum's approval involving death penalty cases, intellectual property cases, and property issues.

Provided legal services for indigent defendants facing the death penalty and life imprisionment.
