I lead a team to develop and implement projects to provide a more efficient, clean transport network in Kent. I ensure we focus on Low Carbon Transport initiatives, investment into Kent and revenue generation for Kent County Council.I regularly present on multiple expert panels on EV charging infrastructure and provide best practice to other Local Authorities on EV infrastructure commissioning and deployment.Recognising the urgent timelines to transition the transport sector to low carbon modes, over the last 6 years I have targeted public EV charging infrastructure as the priority workstream for the team. Local authorities and the private sector must work collaboratively to realise the opportunity that electrified transport, in particular, can bring to the local economy and the difference it can make to communities.I have ensured we, as an authority, look outwards to the private sector to find the right partnerships and solutions that bring the largest impact to Kent. Alongside this I actively promote a commercial mindset for the public sector in this space and ensure the contracts can generate revenue to be reinvested into the network. This is really important to ensure that Kent County Council takes a "network approach" to charging infrastructure.Delivered £6m investment for the Kent economy in 5 years. This has led to the deployment of hundreds of Public EV chargers, creating stable revenue while mitigating risks for the Local Authority.Responsible for structuring the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Funding deploying 000's chargers over the next decade and leveraging £50m+ private sector capital. If you have an idea or concept you would like to discuss, please get in touch with me.
