Led the creation, implementation and growth of MSFHR's infrastructure program focused on enhancing BC's competitiveness for national and international health research funding.Executive Sponsor of the comprehensive reviews of MSFHR's major funding programs and strategic initiatives: Personnel and Infrastructure, Enterprise-wide information systems, Peer Review, and the innovative Technology/Methodology Platform program.

Responsible for the executive leadership and operational management of the Vancouver Cancer Centre including the integration and coordination of cancer services in the Vancouver Region. The Vancouver Cancer Centre - 700 FTEs, operating budget of $ 55 million. Established, led and supported several national, provincial, and local cancer care initiatives involving several levels of government, partner organizations, industry, and health care practitioners.SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTSCo-leader of the BC Cancer Agency - Strategic and Operations Review Committee to ensure alignment of all aspects of the operation with the organization's strategic priorities.Created the Regional Cancer Advisory Committee structure in Northern British Columbia and the Lower Mainland.Successfully led a comprehensive utilization review of acute inpatient services including the implementation plan to achieve the new structure; the expansion of the daycare and chemotherapy unit. Cost savings - $560,000 - 100% of target savings. System and service delivery process improvement goals achieved.

Responsible for all administrative matters of the Radiation, Medical, and Surgical Oncology divisions. Total budget $ 40 million.SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTSSenior administrative support for the Strategic Planning Committee determining the organization's strategic directions. Priority cancer sites determined and implemented.Developed the financial and operational recovery plans for the three medical directorates Radiation, Medicine, and Surgery to ensure achievement of projected cost-savings following a major organization-wide reengineering effort.Conducted an operational review of the Administrative structure of the Ontario Cancer Institute Research Division. Recommendations implemented.
