Founder and CEO of TipTags, Tim wrote the company's foundational patent for sharing location specific data and created the company. He has worked with startup companies in transportation, technology and entertainment his entire career, his skills include entrepreneurship, strategy, economic analysis, marketing, media and entertainment, and innovating in technology. Mr. Roberts has been a speaker at leading conferences world-wideOther startup highlights include: Creating the business plan for ISHAR, a non-profit subsidiary of the Chopra Foundation; taking Silicon Valley startup Pandoodle Corporation from zero revenue to profitability in a year; creating a partnership to develop new attractions at Tokyo and Orlando Disneyland; and developing new business lines for leading game developer Say Design. He began his career as an aviation analyst for R2A Consulting and assisted in developing air service for major airlines, local and national governments, and in providing due diligence for leading investment banks. Moving from air transport to entertainment, Mr. Roberts was successful as an actor, writer and producer. His work included branding efforts for Silicon Valley companies, including start-ups Transmeta (NASDAQ IPO), Network Alchemy (Nokia acquisition), and serving Apple as OS8 spokesman when Steve Jobs made his return to the company. Seeing changes in the startup landscape as an opportunity, Tim obtained an MBA at the leading French business school EDHEC, where he gained first hand understanding of the business environment in the European Union and developed the tools to take a leadership role in startup companies. He also gained experience in China, leading a team which created a strategic plan for merging Chinese manufacturing companies. Outside of work, Tim has been part of two major expeditions to the Himalaya, including the Everest Friendship Beyond Borders Expedition, which got Nawang Sherpa to the summit, the first person to summit Everest with an artificial leg. His experience organizing mountaineering expeditions led directly to the creation of TipTags.Mr. Roberts holds an MBA from EDHEC, an MFA from NYU, and a BS in Human Relations and Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco.
