About Tim Root
A creative problem solver who has improved business performance by creating innovative solutions that integrate business goals with available technology and corporate standards. Major strengths in learning management, learning management systems, instructional design, business analysis, data analysis, eLearning design and development, consulting, project management and teaching.Highlights:•At Teradyne, we cleaned up and revived an ailing, neglected LMS by increasing the usability, processes, and standards for users and administrators. This gained the buy-in of business partners to utilize the LMS once again to drive their needs.•I was the lead LMS expert in the migration to the SAP Success Factors LMS due to the increased integration and decreased cost associated with the implementation of the other SAP HRIS modules we were also implementing. I was the primary expert in the design, migration, integration, and testing. •CDK did not have well defined integration with its SAP Success Factors LMS and other business systems. I initiated and led the integration of the LMS with other HR systems and business systems. This allowed for automated user creation from other systems and automated reporting via Tableau.•When creating ad-hoc and regular reporting, I always look for methods to automate the data gathering and integration. At Sears, our reporting was primarily done through Pentaho dashboards, Pentaho ETL, and Tableau. We automated these by building Pentaho jobs and transformations to supply these reports. Data was commonly pulled from multiple sources, including SQL, Hadoop, Terradata, custom NoSQL, and API sources.•After evaluating the results from a major annual sales initiative that took place in multiple locations around the country for Sears, we were able to show our partners how to change it to a more integrated approach by reducing the physical locations and adding better distance learning and local store follow up programs.•While a Business Analyst at HSBC, I lead an ROI analysis on our remedial collections training program and, based on my recommendations, we were able to show a sustained performance increase of collectors by an average of 23% among all the KPIs.My overall love of combining technology and knowledge transfer drives me to constantly learn more about both. I am always looking for the best methods to combine people and technology in learning to provide the best experiences and business results.
Listed skills include Instructional Technology, Learning Management Systems, Sum Total, Scorm, and 28 others.
