I left HMRC in January 2011 to travel, learn a language and do voluntary work. I spent five years travelling extensively in Spain, Central and South America where I attended Spanish schools, worked as a Volunteer Manager with Raleigh International and taught english in a variety of settings throughout my travels.Prior to this I worked in many different roles that brought me into contact with people from all walks of life. My biggest personal quality is how I interact and relate to others, an ability to see things from their perspective and help them to get the best from themselves. I’m empathetic and easy to get along with, I’ve had leadership and team member roles and I can easily switch between the two. I am able to secure buy-in and commitment from colleagues & external agencies through my facilitative approach and I have excellent communication skills, equally confident when expressing myself in writing, talking on a one to one basis, working with groups and making presentations. All of my previous work/life experience has in one way or another equipped me with these skills and I relish the opportunity to use them with new challenges in the future.
