Responsible for DHM total yearly Capital Expenditure of ~£2m.Achievements: Capital Budget Implemented within the financial year, best control of capex YTD (2017). Requires close liaison and support with all departments needing Capital Expenditure. Projects: Implementation of centralising the compressed air production. Savings of £35k/annum achieved and verified (1.75yr payback)

Responsible for DHM total yearly Capital Expenditure of ~£2m.Achievements: Environmental Projects – package of £650k additional projects delivered saving £300k/annum – highlight being the lighting project, which is saving in excess of £139k/annum from a £240k spend. The project had to be implemented site wide across all departments without affecting supply. Responsible for all issues relating to Site Services. 11kV transformer network, water, compressed air, firematics. Achievements: Re-negotiated contract price of compressed air, pest control, refrigeration, air-conditioning contracts to maintain budget control.Member of the SLT.

Responsible for team of 3 Business Improvement Engineers and 8 Maintenance Engineers covering the Extrusions Department. Budget Responsibilities. Achievements – Delivered process/product improvements: e.g. new product tooling in house at a fraction of the cost of purchasing the tooling externally. Improved Maintenance Team Performance via implementation of Software and KPIs. Reduced unplanned downtime from some 300hrs/week to consistently below the target of 45hrs/weeks via implementing rigorous PPM schedule. Improved high usage spare part availability for the Maintenance Team and reduced re-ordering time.

Responsible for delivering investment for the business, ensuring projects made financial sense and delivered according to their specifications. Achievements – I purchased most of the equipment that is now running in Extrusions, I rationalised and standardised the equipment, rather than replacing like for like. In 2005 I set up a whole new production area for our 3 small bore pipelines, this involved stripping out a warehouse and setting it up from scratch as a production area. This enabled us to run these products far faster and with less scrap. Marley and Hunter Extrusion Production facilities were combined at Lenham in 2008. I was responsible for all the physical moves and installation of the Hunter equipment into the Marley Facility at Lenham. Total of 6 out of 8 Hunter lines moved as the assessment showed we could absorb some of the Hunter capacity onto better Marley lines.

Responsible for team of 5 producing a mix of fabricated and one off products for the market. Budget responsibilities.Achievement - Improved output and labour utilisation by ~20% via supporting the team where they had issues that had not been taken seriously, and improved their self-belief.

Responsible for the identification and implementation of savings in Injection Moulding and Extrusions. Projects included: enhancing labour utilisation, improving waste material recycling.
