Administer the operation of hardware, operating systems and communication platforms related to Plant Administration and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES; i.e., MQSERIES, MS Windows, MS Office, Lotus Notes, SharePoint, UDB, Client Server hardware, AS400, SCIM, GPMQ Apps, etc.). Knowledge and ability to work independently in the support of all plant MES and administration hardware, software and communication networks. Establish and maintain good written documentation of Plant Common and Plant Specific hardware/software policies and procedures. Establish and maintain required programming knowledge related to maintaing technical aspects of plant computer operations (DB2, HTML, ASP). Maintain and update computer and network hardware. Maintain and update computer software. Adhere to all Manufacturing Systems Architecture guidelines. Monitor performance of plant database servers and tune as necessary. Monitor performance of plant process controls environment to ensure hardware and software compatibility. Evaluate hardware and software prior to plant purchase. Maintain good working knowledge of Information Technology trends. Adhere to MSA technical guidelines. Provide on-call support functions for troubleshooting and resolution of information systems related problems. Assumes all other duties as assigned by reporting Manager.

Field incoming help desk requests from internal customers via telephone, and e-mail in a courteous and timely manner. Prioritize and schedule problem resolution. Build rapport and elicit problem details from internal customers.

Provide technical assistance, systems administration, and troubleshooting for business critical account management tools, hardware, and networks supporting more than 70,000 internal customers and field associates nationally. Resolve issues at the point of contact via telephone, remote access, and email. Escalate issues and coordinate resolutio between users and third party vendors as necessary.
