Fletchers Group is a fast-growing legal services group of companies with over 1,000 colleagues. Originally a family firm until being acquired by Sun European Partners in 2021, we continue to grow rapidly both organically and through acquisition in our specialist areas of serious injury and clinical negligence law.

Worked with a variety of organisations to help them make the most of people, work and technology, providing practical, real-world HR advice and solutions. For example, I supported Interserve Justice with complex Employee Relations casework and change management arising from the contracting out of public sector Probation contracts; led a management strategy and planning day for Leeds City Council and designed and co-delivered a "social media in recruitment" training session for NHS Employers.

Brook Young People is the UK’s leading provider of sexual health services and advice for young people under 25.I led the People & OD team from the point that seventeen individual charities merged into one, national organisation. At that point, there were seventeen separate handbooks, numerous different contracts of employment and few national HR systems. I led the specification, selection and implementation of a single HR Information System, the development and running of a bespoke Leadership Development programme and the introduction of standardised systems and practices that saw an increase in the Net Promoter Score of Brook as an employer from 33 to 65 in two years. At the same time I restructured the People & OD Team to provide managers with effective support and guidance to help them manage in line with our HR strategy. In 2015 my team won the Charity Times' HR Management Award, having been Highly Commended in 2014.

Led on all operational and strategic HR issues for the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP): the primary economic development body for the City Region which works with partner organisations to accelerate the growth of the City Region economy. The LEP is also the official Tourist Board for the City Region. Before March 2012, Liverpool City Region LEP was The Mersey Partnership.

Managed a comprehensive Human Resources function for a Wirral/Halton/Cheshire substance misuse agency with 120 staff, meeting NHS and European Social Fund monitoring requirements.

Managed a multidisciplinary team of staff to provide an HR function to managers delivering British Red Cross community services through volunteers. Responsible for an annual budget in excess of £100,000.
