I am an original member of the Board of Directors of the Loss Prevention Foundation. I also serve as the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee for the Loss Prevention Foundation. The Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) is an international leader in educating and certifying retail loss prevention and asset protection professionals. I served on the Steering Committee for Loss Prevention/Asset Protection as well as previously serving on the Asset Protection Leaders Council for the Retail Industry Leaders Association.

Manage and direct the investigative arm of the legal department in order to ensure operational effectiveness and flexibility across all areas of the organization, spanning different technologies, systems and processes to identify and address potential corporate fraud and compliance matters. Translate and articulate business objectives and operating methods in service of accomplishing business strategies, plans and goals of the company. Collaborate with business leaders in making ethically sound decisions to provide a basis for the improvement of operational performance and positive financial results. Manage and direct crisis incidents and potentially threatening situations involving personnel, property and financial and/or reputational risk.  Designed and established a new department within the Legal Department for Delhaize Group. Showed immediate positive ROI on the creation of this area within the first year of existence.  Developed “best practices” for identifying and highlighting areas of potential fraud, waste and abuse within the company.

Oversaw the day-to-day operations of the loss prevention department that included, profit enhancement, corporate fraud, retail and distribution investigations, check recovery, resource recovery and physical security/central station areas and in addition directed security measures for all Food Lion LLC stores, distribution centers and corporate offices. Developed a profit enhancement area within loss prevention that not only highlighted potential areas of fraud within retail but also highlighted process and policy deficiencies which in turn when corrected caused an increase in profits along with a reduction of shrink that also provided enhanced experiences for our customers. Enhanced and increased value to the company by creating enhanced partnerships and relationships throughout the entire organization. Reinvented and enhanced security at the distribution centers causing improved supply chain and food safety security.
