About Dr Tim Shotbolt
Experienced in a diverse range of lighting projects, both natural and artificial lighting with awards collected consistently throughout. Initial undergraduate training in construction management, structural analysis and materials sciences, plus an interest in architecture and light, led to the current career in lighting design.Formal training in lighting was acquired at the University of Sydney, Department of Architectural Science, and the University of New South Wales Solar Architecture Research Unit as well in Holland with worldwide lighting supplier Philips Lighting. Training is on-going with a focus on energy conservation and environment issues; presently undertaking a PhD in that area.Papers have been presented at both national and international conferences with a focus on environmental impact.An all-round appreciation of the processes, the importance of communication and the team of people involved in a successful project has stemmed from prior employment with both large and small builders, a major lighting manufacturer both in design and service of the wholesale industry, plus recent years in lighting design consultancy with Bassett and AECOM.
