Tim Hunt is a Father | Technology Innovator | NonProfit Boad Member | Shooting Sports Coach at CNH Industrial. He possess expertise in engineering, mechanical engineering, pro engineer, systems engineering, robotics and 44 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Tim held a brief but highly effective internship position at DaimlerChrysler with the Product Design Office Studio Internship program. During this high paced, creative and challenging program, Tim proved himself agile, capable and willing to adapt and learn. Tim's responsibilities included Vehicle Architecture and package development for two vehicle proposals created by two Design Interns. Tim was required to consider the entire vehicle package including occupant ergonomics, power train package, safety systems and crush space, chassis, body, and exterior systems. From initial concept creation and idea generation, to 3D surface development, and ultimately a presentation to top Executive levels, Tim was responsible for developing and presenting the Engineering feasibility for both vehicles. Tim was conscientious, capable, and personable in all his efforts with DaimlerChrysler."

Chief Engineer, Autonomous Vehicles ProgramCnh Industrial Sep 2018 - PresentCurrently, I have the opportunity to provide technical leadership to several enterprise efforts in autonomous vehicle research and development. I provide key direction, milestones, and staffing decisions on projects that execute the autonomous vehicle vision for the enterprise. -
Senior System Engineer, Harvester Systems EngineeringJohn Deere Feb 2015 - Sep 2018Moline, Il, UsThis was a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer position within the John Deere Global Crop Harvesting Platform where I focus my efforts on developing a new intelligent systems architecture that will be applied to all new Front End Equipment (header) New Product Programs. In this role I develop sensing strategies, maintain sub system specification documents, provide direction to software teams, create electrical schematics, serve as the primary point of contact for product hydraulic and structures teams, investigate and design control systems for Front End sub systems. This work has taken what has traditionally been a mechanical means of simply cutting and gathering crops and turned it into an intelligent implement which communicates with the combine. Coupling this system allows for shared sensing and information that improve the performance of the combine system as a whole. -
Advanced Controls Engineer, Advanced Harvester EngineeringJohn Deere Nov 2012 - Feb 2015Moline, Il, UsThis was an Advanced Controls Position with the John Deere Global Crop Harvester Engineering Team. I was recruited to help create a conceptual control system which manages the internal settings of a modern crop harvester so that productivity and quality are always key deliverables, regardless of disturbances to the machine. While in this role, I prototyped User Interfaces, tested these UI with customers, integrated UIs to the prototyped control system, developed control systems, collected performance data from test machines running on the North American Continent. During this period, I also worked to model a worksite load balancing system to insure that harvesting crews in the sugar cane operation were in alignment with the needs of the mill. I also worked to produce the first ever GoHarvest Combine Driver Training Simulator. A product that utilizes real hardware from the operator station of a combine as well as a series of specially designed training models to teach combine operators how to operate the system at maximum efficiency without the need of testing in crop or adding expensive machine hours to an idle harvester. -
Senior Engineer, Advanced Tractor EngineeringJohn Deere Nov 2008 - Nov 2012Moline, Il, UsThis was a Senior Engineer position with the John Deere Global Advanced Tractor Engineering Team where I was specially tasked to advance the state-of-the-art in our autonomous tractor programs via our internal technology delivery program. This position gave me the opportunity to support a wide range of design topics including: controller design and manufacturing, embedded software, v2i communications, autonomous systems architecture, path planning, mission modeling, and vehicle/implement interface and automation.During the latter half of the position, I managed a cradle-to-grave exploration into a new autonomous machine form. Organizing customer focus groups, defining requirement, presenting updates to executive leadership, laying out vehicle systems and ultimately leading detail component design activities. After construction this vehicle was on test in California Almond Orchard for an extended period of time. During this program, I led a team of 25 engineers in India through the exercise of creating detailed designs, developing prototype suppliers, assembly, and initial product verification and validation of the autonomous machine form. -
Product Engineer, 5000 Series Operator Station Core TechnologyJohn Deere Jul 2007 - Nov 2008Moline, Il, UsThis was my starting role at John Deere. I worked to commonize components used in the operator station of our 5-Series Global Tractor Program. This required coordinating with 6 factories in Germany, Brazil, Mexico, China, India, and the US.On this global manufactured product, I had design responsibilities for: frame components and weldment, glass, fenders, roof, heating and cooling systems, and lights.During the period of this assignment, I was a part of two programs which were successfully launched into the global market place, John Deere’s 6D Series and 5M series tractors. -
Graduate Research Assistant And Teaching FellowUniversity Of Oklahoma Aug 2001 - Jun 2007Norman, Oklahoma, UsI returned to the University of Oklahoma to pursue graduate degrees in the field of Intelligent Systems. My mechanical engineering curriculum was augmented to included coursework in electrical engineering, computer science, and control systems. While attending graduate classes, I also taught course in the college of engineering, topics like: Intro to Programming, Into to Engineering, Structural Mechanics, and Programming for Engineers. As part of the Intelligent Robotics Lab, I had the opportunity to design, manufacture, assembly, and test critical components for robotic systems created for NASA, Malin Space Science Systems, Lockheed Martin, and the Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority. -
Design EngineerDaimlerchrysler May 2001 - Aug 2001Auburn Hills, Mi, UsI had an exciting opportunity to provide engineering support to 2 of 4 student born concept cars. During this time I worked with an engineering intern to develop a modular base frame that was capable of carrying all four of our concept vehicles. I provided packaging layouts which brought an element of real life to the concepts. I worked to develop safety envelopes, styling ques, performance estimates and cost/mass targets. Our weekly progress was personally reported to the VP of Design, and the overall presentation of the concepts was articulated to a couple hundred leaders under DaimlerChrysler brand. -
