I am a senior HV authorised person and play a key role in ensuring a high standard of maintenance to the extensive plant HV and LV network. I have responsibility for electrical isolations and issue of permits to work. I Manage tasks with a focus on health and safety, whilst keeping within strict time and budget constraints.My role also involves some front line reactive maintenance and fault finding on a wide variety of systems. Besides power network problems, this can be anything from PLC’s and drives to instrumentation and DCS. Often diagnosing faults with the use of software specific to the equipment. I will take the lead on route cause analysis investigations following an electrical fault or plant defect. Suggesting possible improvements to plant or procedures to avoid the same incidents re-occurring.I am currently leading a site wide lighting replacement program. Where I am prioritising the areas on grounds of safety and payback duration. Past projects I have completed in this role include assisting in the safe disconnection of a redundant CHP plant. This involved the re-routing and diversion of a HV ring to maintain the security of the site network. During this task I wrote and carried out some complex switching programs and supervised contractors from design, through to implementation and commissioning. I regularly review plant modification forms. I will ensure that all required documentation has been updated on the asset management system.I am the main point of contact on site for Electricity North West. They contact me with any requirements for power outages on the external network that could affect our site. We then liaise with each other to manage any site restrictions there may be with regard to import or export of electricity.

Including new build flats and houses. Commercial premises and industrial boiler room installations.
