Refinery APC Engineer implementing new DMCplus applications and maintaining existing ones. Control-loop configuration and tuning using Honeywell Experion DCS. Creating inferentials for real-time estimation of unmeasured compositions and product qualities.

• 1. Multivariate controller performance assessment & economic performance evaluation:
• Developed new technique for evaluating economic performance of constrained DMC systems
• Technique combines principle component analysis (PCA) and support vector machines (SVM) to produce an estimate of the optimal operating point for a given system 2. Data-based detection of deficient PI controller tuning:
• Created new method based on the Hurst exponent measure of correlation to detect sluggish or aggressive controller tuning
• Demonstrated that all existing data-based retuning methods can cause closed loop instability when used alone to retune controller parameters3. Frequency domain analysis of valve stiction identification techniques:
• Derived theoretical proof of an explanation the failure of model-based stiction identification methods on a certain class of linear control systems4. Demonstration of new automated control loop performance assessment.

Designed and performed experiments and analysis procedures to explore the deposition of vaporous compounds for the production of copper interconnects on semiconductor chips. Operated, maintained and troubleshooted deposition process and associated vacuum, safety, control, and abatement systems.Performed metrology of deposited nanometer-scale films via AFM.
