CEO, board member, consultant, advisor, social scientist, researcher, and human rights advocate interested in collective leadership of large-scale social change. The emphasis of my research is climate change with a specific focus on complex adaptive systems, meta-organizational theory (e.g., organizations of organizations), polycentricity, and climate adaptation (including the most extreme form of adaptation - leaving via migration). By 2050, over 1.2 billion climate refugees will be on the move globally, and unlike most historical refugees, they will be unable to return home. Our sovereign legal systems and our global immigration structures are insufficient to meet this demand. We need change.I am a capitalist. I believe in free markets and I believe innovation is driven by profit seeking interests with individuals and organizations committed to change. My own personal ambition is to bring disparate ideas and interests together to begin to create new infrastructures and systems that can address global human rights issues that will follow rapid global climate change.
