Supervision and statistical evaluation of a comparative measurement in the field of wastewater analysis for certain production plants and the environmental analytic at the CHEMPARK Dormagen. Participation in daily routine, analysis and evaluation of different (wastewater) samples, method and process development, optimization and validation of chromatographic methods according to DIN EN ISO 17025.

Analysis of the formation of complexes of inorganic divalent mercury (Hg(II)) with low molecular mass thiols (LMM-RSH), which play an important role in the mercury cycle. For this purpose, a method using a porous graphite column (PGC) coupled to an ICP/MS was elaborated, optimised and evaluated in the first part. For a reliable quantification of the complexes, the recovery in different concentration ranges was determined. The method was then used to determine the time-dependent formation of Hg(S-R)2 complexes and the effects on themethylation process in the anaerobic bacterium Geobacter sulfurreducens.
