This organization was formed from a merger of the National Home Furnishings Association, its western regional affiliate, and one other association. Primary duties included serving as Art Director to design the association’s magazine RetailerNOW, working with our Editorial Director, Editor, and Business Development Account Executive. In addition to the magazine, my responsibilities included working in tandem with the marketing team in our California office to produce a variety of the association’s marketing collateral for events, member promotions, programs, and branding.

Began as Marketing Director overseeing all aspects of marketing and creative design for educational programs, workshops and seminars, sponsorship program, regional furniture markets, member recruitment direct mail and literature, magazine advertising, and website direction. Promoted in April 2008 to Senior Director of Marketing Communications & Education responsible for managing three departments to oversee marketing/creative direction, education program evaluation/implementation, managed an off-site Resource Center during bi-annual trade shows, as well as served as publisher of the association’s trade magazine Home Furnishings Retailer. In 2011, I was instrumental in transitioning our magazine into a joint publication with our western affiliate to become RetailerNOW magazine. I worked diplomatically with all departments, freelancers, vendors, and industry partners; remained conscientious of budgetary parameters. I also headed up several committees, which met during board meetings.
