At the heart of data within the Crown Commercial Service, overseeing both its collection from a variety of sources (including 10,000 suppliers each month) and its use by colleagues throughout the organisation. - Managed a small team of analysts in Civil Service Group to collect, process, analyse and publish performance and financial data from over 50 government departments and agencies each quarter- Worked with senior stakeholders across government departments and agencies to improve the quality of performance and financial data submitted- Reported to ministers each quarter on data submitted and emerging trends, as well as preparing reports for Civil Service Board on comparative performance and key trends- Published data internally and on public-facing websites, using innovative data visualisation techniques co-developed with the Government Digital Service using Agile- Worked with Press Offices to identify potential areas of interest in published data and preparing strategies to respond to queries and Freedom of Information requests- Agreed annual revisions to data definitions and metrics with government departments and agencies and Civil Service Heads of Functions and obtained ministerial approval for changes- Set up a cross-government benchmarking club to foster a benchmarking culture across Whitehall, beginning with a pilot looking at contact centres across ten organisations
