I work on Digital Innovation and EU projects for District09 in Ghent, Belgium. District09 is the IT & digital innovation partner of the City of Ghent. I am also a coordinating member of CityLab Ghent where we help stimulate open innovation and write funding proposals for Ghent's City services.I am Innovation Lead in the Digital Innovation Team. We responsibly transform the city with digital innovation. One of the international Smart City projects I was involved in was the Interreg project SCORE (Smart Cities + Open data REuse). Our innovation team also provides support to the project managers of Gemeente zonder Gemeentehuis (ABB), City of Things (VLAIO), Interreg (EU) and Horizon Europe (EU) projects. We support all innovation stages from challenge exploration to ideation to solution development, technical implementation and upscaling.Part of #TeamD5, an award winning 24/7 crisis communications support team, I volunteer for Belgium's federal government.I was active as advisor-developer-researcher on the topic of Crisis Intelligence. In this domain I was project member of E2mC for Campus Vesta (Antwerp). E2mC is a now finished Horizon 2020 EU project on social media analysis, crowdsourcing and Copernicus satellite imagery for disaster management.In the CrisisTech world, my main specialty is perception analysis and innovative tools in crisis, emergency and disaster management. I provide crisis support as part of the team at the firm PM Risk•Crisis•Change (they can make your organization truly crisis prepared). As lead developer I coordinated the technical side of PM's innovative crisis simulation platform #CIPSimulator which was reselled all over the world and used in many sectors to train crisis teams. I also helped develop PM's Zombie Crisis Game, a combination of a teambuilding event, board game and crisis simulation. This serious game is probably the finest crisis simulation you will ever experience ;-)I am co-founder of the international CIP Institute (Complex Interactive Processes Institute), and also involved in Mie-time, a family owned innovative creative/STEM Maker- and Workshop-space in Ghent -> See Instagram: mietime_tufting
