About Tim Van Berkel

Having co-founded the Cornish Seaweed Company in 2012, I currently act as Managing Director on full time basis.I am co-founder and scientific director of the Heart of Borneo Project, a UK charity that aims to conserve the rain forests of Borneo, combining science, interactive media, community empowerment and education.Previous conservation research left me working in Uganda with the University of Exeter and Cameroon with Leiden University, and in the Bornean rain forest as Chief Scientist for the HoBP Murung Raya Expedition and in Peru as Science and Jungle Leader for the British Schools Exploration Society.Specialties: - Camera trapping, Mammal and herpetological research, Occupancy modelling, Tropical ecology- Grant writing - Expedition planning and leading- GIS
