A passion to discover new insights, perseverance and focus have guided me to go beyond what is known.I have dealt with a wide array of biotechnology/biomedical aspects such as optimizing batch reactor fermentations, host-virus interactions, setting up the first transcriptomics of an unconventional organism, identification of the underlying causes of malnutrition-induced pathophysiology by various microscopy and proteomic approaches and the molecular mechanism of a potential anti-diabetic pharmaceutical. To overcome the gap between fields is where I find a real challenge, for example identification of ligand-induced signaling cascades that drive transcriptional changes ultimately resulting in cellular metabolic adaptations that are causal to a physiological response.Besides the results-driven and problem-solving skills required to do so, 10+ years of research has shaped my intellectual skills to keep track of the global view, both in designing projects as well as in putting results in perspective towards end-products in both scientific publication and oral presentation format.I thrive well within an international environment where both team-play and individual initiatives coexist. As an easy accessible employer with broad experience I am frequently consulted and happy to help out.
