Helping to develop and present survivor led worskshop training

I'm a journalist by training, with seven years experience working in regional and national news.I’m also a survivor of historic Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA). In November 2016, after two long years of jumping through the various hoops of the legal system, my testimony finally secured the conviction of the man who abused me. In late January 2017, he was sentenced to four years in prison and placed on the sex offenders register for life.It is my hope to use the professional skills I have developed as a journalist, as well my first-hand experience of the difficulties of speaking out about abuse, to help give a voice to fellow survivors and to raise awareness and understanding among the public about the life changing consequences of what we have endured.
