Key Systems is a niche software company focusing on the outdoor advertising sector. Their main product is a windows application written in VB.NET with SQL Server and Crystal Reports. Their main product is a windows application written in VB.NET with SQL Server and Crystal Reports. I was responsible for maintaining this system as well as creating new modules based on individual client requirements. I did the same for an older VB6 version one client was still using. I rewrote the SQL behind many older screens for greater speed and efficiency. I also designed and created many small support apps including: data import and export systems and services, windows services to interface with other systems including a handheld device for poster installers. I recently created some MVC based web sites for proof of posting and image maintenance. During my time at Key I have learned to co-ordinate development with programmers overseas, design systems that are efficient and easy for others to decipher and to lead a small team of developers. For Multibase I was involved in many varied projects, from fleet/asset management to airline ticket sales, to solicitor fee collection, to housing settlements, stamping and registration. At Pivotal I took part in building a web based accreditation system for financial advisors. The system used ASP.NET, VB.NET ADO.NET, SQL Server, Javascript and Crystal Reports. It was ported from an existing system written in Cold Fusion and Postgres. I was heavily involved the associated data migration. During my time at Pivotal I learned how to quickly analyse existing software and extract the business rules. I also learned the importance of a unified approach to design and implementation.

My main task at EPS was to develop and maintain the company’s core lease management product using Progress. I also designed and developed new modules and reporting solutions. I travelled to various places in Australia and the USA to install the product. I discussed system requirements with other IT Professionals, and helped end users.
