Consisting mainly of HP server and HP Blade hardware utilizing EMC and HP storage technologies with mostly Windows servers. This presents a complex and diverse environment to manage. Much time has been spent documenting and taking inventories of infrastructure and identifying relationships between servers, storage, applications and databases. The identification of bottlenecks and risks to production systems that have inappropriate configuration present opportunities for improvement and usually spark projects to implement changes that can affect the entire organisation.Current projects include the design and architecture of a pending VMware server virtualisation project to provide server consolidation and business application continuity. Data de-duplication, archiving and backup with the objectives of reducing the data footprint and backup time.Other technologies that require management and maintenance include Microsoft Cluster Services for Exchange and MS SQL Server and a Citrix Presentation Server farm consisting of 9 nodes utilising nearly 800 licenses.
