About Timzetta Dickson
I am a strong advocate for the most vulnerable seniors, persons with disabilities, women, children, and at-risk families. I have worked to provide hope, help, and healing to the most marginalized people. In the early years of my career, I was dedicated to providing direct services to change individual and families' lives through various roles such as case management, therapy, support, and service coordination services. Later in my mid-career and in the climate of the continued need to address social determinants of health, overt racism, inequalities, and continued systematic discrimination, I began working toward opportunities to focus on macro-level social work. As a Service Coordinator, I have worked with seniors on voting education, helping seniors to organize and speak up about the issues that impact them through a letter writing campaigns to their elected officials, and synthesizing information so they could understand policy issues. I organized a Senior Walk for Justice in 2020 and spoke before Congress. I serve on a senior advisory board bringing issues before the board that impacts seniors. I have been recognized as Senior Advocate and in years prior in my work with families and children I have received recognition for work and dedication in the field. In addition, I serve as the President of the Michigan Association of Service Coordinators-MASC for the second term increasing membership, bringing integrity back to the board, and ensuring Members receive quality training and resources. Under my tutelage, our MASC association has been recognized as one of the most organized and thriving associations. I take tremendous pride in bringing my proven track record of surpassing objectives and improving the productivity of work through a firm work ethic, compassion, and dedication to the people I serve. Here are some of my career accomplishments:• Received commendations for being an outstanding Options Counselor, Service Coordinator, and social change agent recognized by leadership, and selected for Awards.• Advanced senior advocacy while leading, promoting, and planning a senior walk for justice events.• Commended for successfully managing a Board of Directors and overseeing state-wide membership of Service Coordinators. If you need a person who is passionate about making individual and systematic social justice changes and a multifaceted servant-leader who can significantly champion organizational culture, we should connect! Do not hesitate to reach me here or via timalright@yahoo.com. I am exhilarated to begin achieving goals with you!
