Experienced librarian in academic, school and public sectors. Proud to have the full quartet of sectors on my CV as I now work as NHS Librarian (healthcare). Despite years of regression in the sector, we are increasingly relevant in the information age and playing a part in broadcasting that message is important to me. In 2008 I completed an MSc in Information Management with distinction from the University of Sheffield and was consequently employed as Research Assistant for an EU funded (FP7) project at the University of Sheffield. Then I completed my PhD at Loughborough University, further expanding my understanding of the Knowledge and Information Management field, in particular in the areas of social media, professionalism and social learning. Whilst also expanding on my teaching experience and deepening my knowledge of research methodologies (qualitative in particular). I am still actively researching various topics in libraries, information literacy, academic literacy and digital scholarship in particular. Key interests: Information Literacy, Pedagogy/Heutagogy, Knowledge and Information Management, Professional Development, Electronic Learning Environments, Learning and Teaching, Social Media, Qualitative Research Methods, Organisational Knowledge.
