I am currently working as an Economist at Environment and Climate Change Canada in the national capital region. My interest in working in the public service began in my undergraduate degree where I studied Economics and Sociology at Dalhousie University. I completed courses that involved the how economics affect the Canadian public. Cost-benefit analysis, Public Finance, Canadian Public Policy (economics), Health Economics and the Economics of Global Warming, are just a few examples of the courses that have prepared me to meaningfully contribute to a team in the public service. As a former manager and supervisor, I developed aptitude in communication, organization, and coordination among the staff members I managed and the management above me. These positions required me to be dependable, show initiative and create a positive supportive work environment. As an entry-level worker, I also developed my abilities in, and learned the importance of, functioning as a productive, efficient and effective member of a team.
