My Grandmother started in 1978, I always visited her in the unit and she was so proud to introduce me to all of her regulars (2nd family) when I was 6 yrs old...My uncle was associate & then manager with WH for 20 + years.I started my first job in a roller skating rink when I was 13 and eventually owned it until "Roller Blades" hit.sold out in late 1999, became an elementary lunchroom Manager for 1.5 years ( hardest work I've ever done for the least pay) and my uncle kept saying: "Tina, Waffle House, you know it you were a server in 1991 for extra cash, it's in your blood, we are all family!" Jan. 2nd, 2002, I joined the mgt. team, 52 wks to exact date became a 3 unit dist. mgr and then a Division Mgr of 9 units for 6 years. I was a single mother at the time of 2 girls and had a GREAT work life balance, never missed any of the 7 sports between the both of them and was able to provide private education and VERY MEMORABLE vacations and all the perks of two teenagers 15 months apart.I & my girls are forever greatful for Waffle House!The Leadership, Growth and development that the Senior Management invested in me in more than words can express!
