I have worked with Children & Families since 1987. Since 2006 I have worked in the social care field, being part of the management teams of both children's homes and in a residential parenting assessment unit. In addition to my degree I have:- NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care - NVQ 4 in Leadership and Management in Care- Level 3 award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTTLLS) - I am trained to carry out PAMS parenting assessments - I am a trained facilitator of the Mellow Parenting programme- Completed the DASH Masterclass training accredited by the University of BrightonI have many years experience of working sensitively but assertively with clients who have a range of issues, such as mental health, addictions, trauma, learning needs and who have experienced or been perpetrators of domestic abuse. I am able to work one to one with clients or in group settings and I am confident at managing situations when emotions can make them heated. I have excellent risk assessment and management skills which are an essential part of my duty to safeguard the children, adults and colleagues I work with. My most recent 2 roles have required me to prepare reports and make recommendations in Care Proceedings and attend court to give evidence in these proceedings. In previous roles I have been responsible for developing the service by devising and implementing systems that simplified the day to day operations but were also easy to evidence. These had to stand up to scrutiny by local authority and government (Ofsted) inspectors. I devised and delivered in house induction and ongoing training for the staff teams, incorporating tools that would ensure I had included all forms of learning styles. I can use Word, excel and powerpoint.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Customer Service, Microsoft Excel, Leadership, and 5 others.
