I started my journey working with animals by volunteering at a local RSPCA shelter. This spurred my passion to find a position in a Veterinary practice. I started my veterinary nurse training in 2008. I qualified in 2010 and embarked on clinical coach training, to help deliver exceptional training to the future veterinary nurses of the industry. In 2014 I was honoured to win Pet Plans Veterinary nurse of the year, an award I feel truly blessed to receive. Later that year, my practice joined the Medivet group and the following year, I was promoted to Head Veterinary Nurse at our 24 hour Hospital. I have grown significantly in my role as a leader and mentor and I thrive to deliver the highest standards of clinical care. I have gained a significant amount of knowledge in practice development, clinical governance, RCVS practice standards scheme and the general managing of a team of 28 + permanent staff.I am currently enrolled in my Vets Now Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care. I hope this certificate will further my knowledge in providing gold standard care to my patients and their owners and enable me to share this knowledge to the rest of our clinical team. I have a keen interest in ECC nursing, nursing consultations and practice development. I hope to enrol in my Certificate of Veterinary Practice Management once I have completed my current certificate.
