Recruiting, managing and developing volunteering opportunities at the Blue Cross Grimsby animal hospital including supporting local fundraising. Recent achievements include the set up and running of an on-site charity shop, the introduction of foster carers and a 70% increase in volunteering support to the hospital over the last 5 years. As a Blue Cross education speaker, I also deliver education talks to schools, colleges and community groups on animal care and welfare, safety around dogs and the history of Blue Cross.

Duties included producing a variety of on-site promotional material, production of a weekly e-newsletter, management of customer databases and loyalty card systems, social media management, updating website via cms, developing/delivering and supporting events as well as providing administerial support

Peterborough Archives

Responsible for the coordination and delivery of the HLF project Forty Years On which explores and creatively interprets Peterborough’s development since 1968 as part of the New Towns Act using archives, oral history and theatre. Duties included:-Marketing and promotion including a regular column for Only Peterborough magazine and delivering a paper at the national Oral History Society Conference 2013.- Support, supervision and training of a team of over 20 oral history volunteers including the development and delivery of in-house training.- Community engagement: recruitment of over 150 interviewees, including immigrants and ethnic minority groups, and delivering workshops with schools and colleges.- The development and design of a touring exhibition, booklets for residents and educational materials.- Supported playwrights with content research for plays.- Project evaluation: collected evidence and inputted into final report.

Coordination and delivery of the following projects:Distant WaterA HLF project which collected the stories and experiences of Grimsby fishermen through oral history, conducted historical research and preserved this for future generations. Duties included: - Project planning, monitoring and funder reporting, marketing and promotion.- Working with local schools, colleges and volunteers.- Recruitment and supervision of a history graduate and volunteers.- Creation and admin of new publishing imprint: North Wall Publishing.- Research, writing, editing, production and design of the Distant Water publication, accompanying educational materials and exhibition.Community Task Force – work programme Offered young people aged 18-24 valuable media placements and training at CPO as part of the Young Person’s Guarantee. Duties included:- Coordinating all paperwork with the local provider Intraining.- Planning and delivery of activities, training and employability sessions.- Supervision of up to 10 young people.

Coordination and delivery of the v-funded youth volunteering project VOXX, a bi-monthly magazine. Duties included:- The production of VOXX magazine, involving volunteers in all processes - Running the VOXX youth volunteering programme- Publicising VOXX magazine/project through the media and local organisations/services.- Monitoring and delivering against VOXX project outcomes/ budgets and producing quarterly funding reports.

- Played a key role in the research, writing and editing of The Women They Left Behind history book which involved undertaking oral history interviews with female members of the fishing community.- Took the lead role in promotion, sales and the design of the publication and accompanying exhibition. As part of this, I delivered talks to libraries throughout NE Lincolnshire and gained the project national publicity via a live interview on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour.
