Operations and Administrative Management: Oversees 2 inpatient departments (inpatient) within the Division of Patient Care Services - Acute Care (Orthopedic-Trauma), Critical Care (Transfer and Receiving). Collaborates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive officers, and other stakeholders in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services. Utilizes evidence-based practices to guide standards development in practice improvement initiatives. Evaluates factors related to safety, outcomes, effectiveness, cost, and social impact when developing and implementing practice innovations. Drives problem identification and resolution, program development, strategic planning, and policy development. Supports the Director of Patient Care Services in functional and administrative areas. Allocates financial resources, reviews financial reports, identifies variances, provides evaluations, and implements cost controls. Monitors and evaluates staff productivity. Writes specifications for capital equipment, improvement projects, and material supply items. Handles purchasing of supplies and minor equipment.Personnel, Resource Management: Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to staff through competency-based evaluation by direct observation, peer review, orientation, and employee input. Serves as clinical consultant and advisor to Nursing Supervisors, as well as a mentor, facilitator, and consultant to clinical nursing staff at all levels. Utilizes a shared governance model of nursing practice and integrates point of care staff into the decision making process. Facilitates and promotes nursing education. Integral team member for committees, ad hoc task forces, and subcommittees addressing issues of quality care, nursing practice, and resource utilization.

Assumed responsibility for clinical, administrative, and management functions. Served as House Supervisor for assuring functions of the patient services department with administrative authority during absence of the Nurse Manager in consultation as needed with the Administrative Officer on-call.
